Gender and Sexuality Alliance (GSA)
The Pierce School Gender and Sexuality Alliance (GSA) is a student-led group that provides a safe place for students to meet, support one another, discuss issues related to sexual orientation and gender identity or expression, and work to end harassment and discrimination of LGBT students.
Three common functions of a GSA include providing support, building community, and taking action to create positive change within the school.
All discussions and activities that take place during GSA meetings are age-appropriate and school-appropriate. Topics may include gender roles, issues that LGBT students face within the school, and projects that help create a safe, welcoming, and accepting school environment for all students.
The curriculum used by the GSA is available for review upon request.
